As Nest’s product offering multiplied, we revisited its original package design. While iconic, some elements that made sense for the original products didn’t translate well for the future. The expanding business required multi-regional SKUs and cost savings, without compromise in the user experience or premium look and feel.

We reimagined a design that invites customers to visualize how our products would seamlessly fit into their own homes. Using photography to communicate product features, rather than listing them in multiple languages, made Nest’s messaging relatable and easy to understand at a glance.

We kept some of the familiar elements inside the box – our natural materials and thoughtful layout with all the right parts.
